Taiwanese artist Alice Lin presents a series of new ceramic works made during her current residency at FAC which respond to the unique beauty of Australian flora and fauna.

Having developed a fascination with Australian marsupials watching the Discovery Channel, Lin travelled to Australia to encounter these unique creatures firsthand. During her residency she has created a quirky collection of animals for Muah!, using her perspective as a bystander in a foreign landscape to add imagined features to well-known Australian animals, creating strange and beautiful hybrids.

Lin, a ceramic artist who graduated from Tainan National University of the Arts, has exhibited in Taiwan, the USA and Japan.

The Asialink Artist Residency is an innovative, flexible program that promotes cross-cultural dialogue by providing Australian and Asian artists with opportunities for reciprocal exchanges with artists from Taipei Cultural Foundation, Taiwan. FAC has been involved with the program for seven years.

This residency project is a partnership between Asialink, AIR Taipei, Taipei and Fremantle Arts Centre.
