Philip Gostelow’s photographic career has spanned three decades, working with some of the world’s leading publications as a portrait specialist and features photographer. His commissions include portraits of Quentin Tarantino, Diana Ross and Jeff Buckley, with a client list including TIME magazine, Wall Street Journal, Vogue China, The Independent and Figaro. In Australia he’s shot for The Weekend Australian Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review magazine, and taught photography at Sydney’s University of Western Sydney. His series on the Black Christmas Bushfires (2001) is in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Australia. Having started his career in Tokyo, he’s been based in Sydney, Shanghai, and now currently back in his hometown, Perth. He’s keen to share the theoretical and practical skills that will help students improve their craft.
