Jo Bowmann’s work varies in style & medium, from sculptural to stitched forms, large knitted works using surveyor’s tape and jute and assembling found pieces of timber into house forms and icons. Jo’s work ethic arises from growing up in the Eastern Wheatbelt on a farm observing her family work in shearing sheds, driving tractors and cutting wood for the fire. The jigsaw of life reflects her experiences through this art practice.
Jo has 21 years of teaching experience, providing a platform to create art, inspire students and address the importance of art & culture in our community. She tutors in the Gifted & Talented Visual Art program at Applecross Senior High School.
