Learn traditional jewellery making techniques with a twist to create your own contemporary piece of jewellery in this newly extended course led by Kate Sale.

Students will be encouraged to step outside the box and push traditional ideals of jewellery but still make quality pieces and be shown alternate ways to create a design. This course will also cover the techniques of jewellery making, and how to use the equipment in the jewellery studio safely and competently.

Materials:-

  •  A materials fee is included in the cost of the course

What to bring:-

  • Notebook & pen
  • Apron
  • Any jewellery making tools (if you have them)
  • Students will be required to source and purchase their own silver - this will be discussed in the first class
  • Students must wear appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair for safety reasons

Tutor Kate Sale

Kate studied Jewellery at NMIT in Melbourne. She enjoys using traditionally taught jewellery techniques but pushes the boundaries to create modern, unique and very colourful pieces.
