For over three decades guitarist-singer Dave Brewer has been the backbone for many of Australia’s most seminal acts including The Elks, Dynamic Hepnotics, Mighty Reapers and The Catholics.
Since returning from Sydney to his hometown of Perth, Dave has been regularly working with Natalie Gillespie, Lucky Oceans and the DooDaddies, as well as performing his original material with the Deluxe Combo.
Dave, on vocals and electric guitar, is joined by mainstay members of the Deluxe Combo Elliot Smith (drums) and Alex Borthwick (bass) to form one of the most formidable rhythm sections around. Throw in two of Perth’s leading tenor sax and keyboard players, Jeremy Trezona and Harry Mitchell, and you can expect a groove-laden performance for any lovers of blues, funk, soul and jazz.
Sunday Music is FAC’s beloved flagship music program, presenting free weekly concerts every week for six months of the year from October to March. Enjoy a carefully curated line up of the best local and touring musicians every weekend under the trees in FAC’s stunning Front Garden.
The quality of the acts is perfectly complemented by the relaxed, family friendly atmosphere which makes Sunday Music a staple of summer in Fremantle. We recommend you arrive early and settle in for the afternoon. Bring a rug and picnic (no BYO alcohol) or enjoy tasty treats from the food vendors and bar on-site. Some chairs provided.
Sunday Music is possible thanks to the ongoing support of Bendigo Bank – Fremantle Community Bank Branch.
