The City of Fremantle Library turns 70 in September. To mark this milestone FAC and City of Fremantle Civic Collection will partner with the Library to recreate a reading room of artist books made from discarded library stock.

Community members are invited to participate in free kids and adults workshops making artist books with Fremantle artists and FAC tutors. Works created will be included in an interactive exhibition during the FAC Print Award.

The Fremantle Free Lending Library opened in 1949, the first of its kind in WA. The Fremantle Library is planning several events and activities to celebrate 70 years of service. Celebrations will be held in the Library, Town Hall and FAC.
