With the support of our official partner, Community Bank – Fremantle – Bendigo Bank, FAC is excited to announce the second Show Time in our series of ongoing free creative programs for young children and families/carers!

Join us for a special morning with exhibiting artist Jacky Cheng, exploring the power of rituals, lucky charms and our own beliefs.

“Rituals provide a sense of control over uncontrollable events, reducing stress and anxiety. Even though the effectiveness of these rituals is objectively unfounded, the subjective psychological comfort they provide can have real-world positive effects for individuals or within a family dynamic. Rituals often accompany the use of lucky charms, whether it’s knocking on wood or carrying a four-leaf clover. While these rituals might not change the outcome of an event, they provide comfort – reduce anxiety and increase confidence.”

Spend the morning in conversation and creation with Jacky, sculpting and weaving a collaborative lucky charm to infuse with your own positive power and beliefs.

Enrolment is essential for this limited workshop, with only fifteen places available for a young person – aged 3 to 15 – and a guardian to spend the morning with Jacky and create their own lucky charm to carry with them out into the world.

Enrolments open at 9am, Friday the 11th of October and each enrolment is for one child and one guardian.
