Baluk Arts is based in Mornington and owned by Aboriginal artists from Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and greater Melbourne. Baluk artists are from diverse Aboriginal backgrounds from all over Australia and their works reflect themes of identity. The active art centre is one of the few urban-based Aboriginal art centres to participate in the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair. Baluk Arts also participated in Tarnanthi Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art, and Carriageworks’ Black Arts Market. Several of their artists have been finalists in the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award, Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize, Manningham Ceramic Art Award and the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards.
