Whether you’re new to drawing or feel like getting some practice, this course will help develop essential drawing skills!

Sessions will include exercises in observation, measurement and proportion, the use of light and shade to model form, contour and gestural line, and mark making. Subject matter will range from small scale objects in the studio to examining linear perspective in the grounds, large scale botanical elements to a session with a model for life drawing experience! Come and be excited by this elemental practice under the expert guidance of a very experienced tutor and celebrated artist, Joss Gregson.

What to bring:-

  • Visual Diary (A4 is ideal)
  • Progresso graphite pencils, 1 x 2B & 1 x 6B
  • 1 x stick of compressed charcoal
  • 1 x Fine or Medium Drawing Pen (Artline is fine!)
  • Kneadable eraser
  • White plastic eraser
  • For first class: 2 x sheets of butchers paper & 2 x sheets of A1 cartridge paper
  • Further paper/materials may be required throughout the course - your tutor will discuss these with you ahead of time
