Sketching in Watercolour – Catching the Moment

Learn how to catch moments of life in watercolour. Develop your observation skills and practice drawing and painting spontaneously with watercolours. Discover the versatility of this medium and enjoy a relaxing day working with lines and colour under the guidance of an experienced tutor.

What to bring:-

  • A light weight watercolour palette with mixing areas or small plastic palette
  • Artist quality Watercolour paints – Ultramarine blue, raw sienna, burnt sienna, permanent alizarin crimson, aureolin yellow, sap green are all recommended colours or your choice of primary colours
  • A5/A4 Watercolour pad
  • A4 cartridge pad or sketch book
  • 2B pencil
  • Eraser
  • Watercolour brushes #10 & #12
  • Water container with lid
  • Small rag
  • 2 x bulldog clips
  • Hat, sunscreen (we will be outside)
  • A bag to carry it all in
  • Watercolour pencils – red, yellow, blue (optional)
  • 1 x black fine liner pen/ball point pen
