Printmaking Studio with Bina Butcher (NEW!) with Bina Butcher

Enroll in this new studio course to enhance your printmaking expertise, challenge your abilities, or discover something different! Explore advanced printmaking techniques such as reductive drawn monotypes, stencil monoprints, paper lithography, and screen printing on paper, among others. Gain knowledge in creating registration sheets, selecting the appropriate paper types, and producing editions or series.

You will master the art of composing and layering images by combining different printmaking methods and honing your skills in the workshop. This course is ideal for those who have participated in any of Bina's prior workshops and are looking to advance their printmaking skills, or for those who have a project in progress and seek a collaborative environment to develop their concepts.

Materials:-

  •  A materials fee is included in the cost of the course

What to bring:-

  • Notebook & pen
  • Apron
  • Black and white imagery (free choice!) to work with for first class (there will also be a still life set up to work from during this class if you can't find any black and white imagery)
  • Standard quality paper is provided for printing, if students require specialist printmaking paper they will be required to source and purchase their own, this will be discussed in the first class
  • Students must wear appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair for safety reasons

Bina Butcher is a practicing artist based in Perth WA who has a focus on printmaking practices. Her workshops cover everything from printmaking basics such as monoprint, dry point etching, screen printing, embossing and woodcut; to more in-depth processes that can include chine cole', paper lithography, cyanotype, bookbinding and much more.
