View Introduction To CalligraphyJoin 46th Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award exhibiting artist Bina Butcher for an exciting afternoon of monoprinting in this hands-on course for FAC Creative Learning.
'Monoprint' or 'monotype' is a form of printmaking where each print produced is unique; a one-off print that cannot be exactly replicated. In this workshop you will be introduced to monoprint and embossing print processes and will use a combination of found objects and recycled materials to create one-of-a-kind prints, focusing on expressive mark making, texture, and impressions.
Bina will expertly guide you through reductive drawing techniques and show you how to incorporate several different monoprinting techniques in the one artwork. An Afternoon of Monoprint is a perfect introduction to the world of printmaking and by the end of this course you will have become familiar with working with a printmaking press, specialist equipment, and will have become proficient at using and mixing inks. No experience necessary – the perfect course for beginners!
