Take your painting skills to the next level in this intermediate course with Miles Carpenter.

This class is designed for those ready to dive deeper into colour, techniques, and composition. Through challenging weekly exercises, you’ll refine your skills and experiment with new approaches to create more resolved, polished paintings. Miles’ friendly and encouraging approach will help you grow at your own pace, offering personalised guidance to unlock your creative potential.

You’ll be immersed in a supportive studio environment where you can explore and develop your individual style. Whether you're looking to add depth to your work or experiment with new techniques, this course will help you take your painting practice to new heights.

Prerequisites

Basic painting experience or a willingness to take on new challenges and develop your skills further. Suitable for students who want to refine their techniques and explore more advanced painting concepts.

What to bring

• Acrylic paints (artist quality) - Cadmium Red, Cadmium medium or Arylamide deep (warm) Yellow, Lemon or Light (cool) Yellow, French Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone Magenta, Titanium White, Black

• A variety of brushes or set including small and large round and flat synthetic brushes (artist quality) *please note really cheap paints and brushes are much harder to paint with*

• Flat palette

• Palette Knife

• Acrylic painting paper pad A3

• Water jar

• Cloth

• Canvas or primed board approximately 40cm x 40cm and as needed

• Further materials may be required throughout the course
