About the class

Step into the vibrant world of abstract painting with artist Richard Gunning. This course is perfect for anyone eager to break free from representational painting and explore the expressive possibilities of abstraction.

Through a series of engaging projects, you’ll experiment with different techniques, styles, and concepts, gaining a deeper understanding of key movements in abstract art.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter looking to expand your artistic language, this course offers a supportive environment to develop your creativity and create a dynamic series of paintings.

This list will cover most of what you need for the class, but be prepared for additional supplies that may arise during the course.

  • At least one canvas or board (no smaller than A3) to start with
  • Canvas/boards and surface preparation will be discussed in the first class; you will need additional canvases or boards for the course

  • Acrylic Paints (Chromacryl, A2, Atelier, Matisse Structure or similar):
    • Titanium White
