Drawing The Basics: Beginners to Intermediate with Rodney Sinclair (Summer Special) with Rodney Sinclair

Drawing is a wonderful and rewarding endeavor and can be an art form in itself, or act as a beneficial adjunct to painting, and many other creative pursuits. The simple act of drawing on a regular basis will, above all, teach you to see, increasing your ability to observe the world around you. An essential skill for any visual artist.

Join Rodney Sinclair to get a great grasp of the fundamentals of drawing, learning concepts such as perspective, proportion and more intermediate techniques of learning how to apply form, line, tonal values, and more complex uses of graphite pencil and charcoal in a fun and relaxed studio environment.

What to bring:-

  • Heavyweight A3 size paper (pad or single sheets)
  • Staedtler Tradition pencils  HB, 2B, 4B, 6B
  • Willow charcoal
  • Compressed charcoal medium grade
  • Charcoal pencil, medium grade
  • Staedtler Mars Plastic eraser
  • Fab-Castell kneadable eraser
  • A3 size folio (not essential)
  • Small retractable Craft Knife
  • Fine grade sandpaper (for sharpening pencils)
  • Masking tape 25mm
  • We recommend bringing your own lunch (our onsite coffee cart can be very busy on the weekends)
