Copperplate Etching Open Studio with Vanessa Lombardo

About the class

This open studio class encourages students to further develop their etching and intaglio techniques.
Using various processes like soft ground, hard ground, sugar lift, step aquatint, and chine collé, you’ll work towards producing an edition of prints.
Demonstrations tailored to individual interests will be included, along with professional artist editioning techniques.

What to bring

  • A4 or A5 visual diary/notebook
  • 2B or 4B pencil
  •  Eraser
  •  0.4mm black Artline 220 pen
  • 2 x single sheets of paper for editioning purposes (Fabriano Rosapina 50 x 70cm 285gsm recommended)
  •  Full-sized apron

Vanessa Lombardo is a visual artist based in Boorloo Perth. Vanessa uses varied techniques developed over her years of practice including pen and ink, copper etching, screen printing, painting, collage, and digital printing. She has a fascination with the natural world. Through her art making she investigates human interaction, adoration, and decimation of indigenous fauna and flora.
