View Contemporary Acrylics Studio With Miles CarpenterExplore several techniques to create a whimsical garden totem from clay in this six-week course at FAC. You will learn to make decorative components to take your totem to whole new heights. This course is intended as springboard for you to dive in and create your own unique, personalised garden sculpture. Build upon ideas to make a statement about your environment and produce something truly unique under the expert tutelage of Dee Jaeger.
Start by learning the tricks and techniques to create a beautiful base, then work your way up, forming different component parts to form your totem. Apply staining and glazing techniques to your piece, then finish off the course by threading your pieces onto a support. Once you've learned the techniques, you can adapt and build upon these ideas to create future garden sculptures of your very own. Suitable for all skill levels, beginner through to advanced – let’s build sky high with clay!
