Bold Acrylic Painting with Maggie Johnson with Maggie Johnson

Using a colourful and contemporary still life arrangement, students will be inspired to create two medium sized original paintings and will be encouraged to make bold decisions, let go of perfectionism and enjoy the freedom that acrylic painting
allows.

Students will be guided through every step of the process from ideation, to composition, colour mixing, to adding the finishing touches in a fun and convivial studio setting. Come have some fun with bright, bold acrylic painting!

What to bring:

  • Acrylic paints - (Chromacryl/Atelier/Matisse)
    • Warm Yellow
    • Cool Yellow
    • Warm Red
    • Cool Red
    • Warm Blue
    • Cool Blue
    • White
    • Black (optional)
  • Royal & Langnickel White paint brush set (from Officeworks) or an assortment of small to large size brushes
  • Palette
  • Rags
  • Jars with lids for water
  • Apron (optional)
  • 2 x canvas roughly 12 x 16 inch
  • Additional canvases or painting supplies may be required throughout the course

Tutor Maggie Johnson

Maggie is a Western Australian Artist living and working in Walyalup/Fremantle. She has completed studies in both Fine Arts and Creative Arts Therapies and now works as an acrylic painter, mural artist and digital designer/illustrator with a passion for attaining an overall element of fun in her work.
