About the class

Discover the art of silver jewellery making in this hands-on beginner’s course. Learn essential skills such as sawing, filing, soldering, and bezel setting to create a unique ring. Under the expert guidance of jeweller Nicole Kelly, you'll explore techniques like melting and pouring metal, rolling mill texturing, piercing, drilling, and polishing.

Throughout the course, you'll:
• Experiment with textured surfaces
• Shape and form sheet metal into stunning 3D designs
• Create rings, earrings, and pendants
• Develop your own piece with expert guidance
• Enjoy a fun and friendly creative environment

Whether you're making a sentimental keepsake or simply exploring a new craft, this class will give you the skills and confidence to bring your jewellery ideas to life.

What to bring

• Most of the materials are included in the course fee.
• We will guide you on any additional supplies you may need to purchase as the course progresses.
• Should you need, Bezel Ring Kits are available to purchase for $20 through reception at the Fremantle Arts Centre. These will be available throughout the term.

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
