Advanced Sand Casting with Kate Sale
About the class
If you've already experimented with sand casting and are ready to take your skills to the next level, this advanced course with Kate Sale is for you.
Learn how to cast in place faceted stones and master the technique of casting a challenging piece in multiple stages. You'll build on your prior knowledge to create more intricate designs, including stone settings, and explore bi-metal castings and new types of stones.
What to bring
- Faceted cubic zirconia, sapphires, or other synthetic stones (small value) for casting. Please note not all stones are suitable for casting.
- Should you need, Bezel Ring Kits are available to purchase for $20 through reception at the Fremantle Arts Centre. These will be available throughout the term.
Prerequisites
Must have attended a previous sand casting course, either at Fremantle Arts Centre or another reputable in-person class (no online courses).
Building Accessibility
Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
Other Additional Needs
Should you, or the person you are enrolling for, have any other additional requirements, please include these details when booking. Should you wish to chat to one of our friendly team, feel free to contact Reception on 9432 9555 or email [email protected] to discuss any individual needs.
