2024 Showtime Series: Darryl Dempster

With the support of our official partner, Community Bank - Fremantle - Bendigo Bank, FAC is excited to announce the first in a series of ongoing free creative programs for young children and families/carers!

Join us for a special morning with exhibiting artist, Darryl Dempster, for a morning of immersive, creative and colourful storytelling. Bringing his painting and storytelling process from DooDoo out into the FAC Front Garden, Darryl will create an original artwork as Ariel Katzir shares the stories behind Darryl's mark making, colours, shapes and vibrant painting.

Bring along your own found object: a lamp, some clothing, an old suitcase, anything you have in your lives that could use a splash of colour, to tell your own story with the washable acrylic paints, brushes and paint pens supplied on the day, working together to create your own DooDoo-inspired collaborative artwork to take home. Wear an art shirt, old clothes or bring an apron/art smock!

Enrolment is essential for this limited workshop, with only twenty places available for a young person - aged 3 to 10 - and a guardian to spend the morning with Darryl and work together to tell a story from their lives and families.

Enrolments open at 9am, Saturday the 29th of June and each enrolment is for one child and one guardian.
