Internationally acclaimed artist James Angus debuts new works at FAC

Renowned Australian artist James Angus will present his very first papier mâché sculptures in the upcoming exhibition Papier Mâché for Beginners. Opening 6:30pm Friday 7 June at Fremantle Art Centre, this is Angus’ first solo show in WA in over a decade and will debut 12 never before seen works.

Pilot Painter: An Exhibition of Works by George A.D. Forsyth

Don’t miss the opportunity to view a collection of recently unearthed artworks by one of Fremantle’s most fascinating and unheralded maritime figures, 19th Century Harbour Master, Captain George A.D. Forsyth. Opening 6:30pm Friday 7 June at Fremantle Arts Centre, Pilot Painter unveils 14 rarely-seen paintings and drawings created between 1870 and 1893, offering a glimpse of Fremantle Port and Rottnest as they were in the late-1800s.

Soft Soft Loud returns with Hanna Benn & Deantoni Parks in Procession

Analogue, digital, acoustic and synthetic sounds are transformed into a spiritual soundscape as vocalist and composer Hanna Benn (US) and percussionist, composer and producer Deantoni Parks (US) come together to perform the Australian premiere of Procession at Fremantle Arts Centre. Presented as part of Perth Festival, this one-night-only event will see FAC’s Inner Courtyard radiate as the celestial song cycle evolves over the course of the evening. Benn and Parks will be joined onstage by a chamber ensemble of Australia’s finest players.

Bush Women: 25 Years On

Now Bush Women: 25 Years On reassembles the works of Paji Honeychild Yankkarr, Daisy Andrews, Queenie McKenzie (Gara-Gara), Tjapartji Kanytjuri Bates, Tjingapa Davies and Pantjiti Mary McLean a quarter of a century later.
