Thank you for applying for the MBAS Studios Program.

We welcome proposals from individual artists, groups and organisations across all art forms and creative practice for placements within the Moores Building Art Space Studios program. We strongly encourage artists of First Nations, CALD, LGBTQIA+ and disability communities with practices across disciplines to contact us.

Contact Bevan Honey for STUDIO RATES via [email protected]

We strongly recommend contacting the FAC team at [email protected] to discuss suitability of practice and studio activities before you submit your application. Studio applications will only be accepted through this online form.

Accessible 24 hours a day, 7days a week, the studios are located upstairs in the Moores Building and at the rear of the Moores Building courtyard, neighbouring a café, bookshop, and residential apartments; studio activities that do not produce noise or air pollutants are considered most suitable. Some contractual restrictions will apply including but not limited to sub-letting of space and using studios as storage spaces or shopfronts.

The rear studios have ample natural light, concrete slab floors, lined walls, access to running water, and are best suited to individual artists although smaller groups, collaborations and collectives are welcome to apply.

The upstairs studios are large open spaces with wooden floors with some heritage restrictions in place. Only dry practices will be permitted in these spaces. Individual, groups, collaborations, collectives, and organisations are welcome to apply.

Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or any other link share site will not be accepted as part of your application.

APPLICATION PERIOD
• Applications close 11:59pm AWST December 3 2023
• Applicants will be advised of an outcome by December 15 2023
• Studio leases commence February 2024. Except studio seven which will be available from May 2024

*Please note you will not get a response acknowledging your submission until applications have been assessed.*
