Fremantle Arts Centre’s Residency Program facilitates cultural exchange programs for regional, remote, national & international artists.
Our visiting artist in residence is provided with the Moores Apartment and a studio at Fremantle Arts Centre. The apartment is a beautiful, light filled space situated within the historic West End of Fremantle and connected to the Moores Building. The Moores Building is a FAC-run contemporary art studio and exhibition space located less than 2 kilometre’s from the Fremantle Arts Centre.
Artist in Residence
YUNJU PARK
Yunju Park is the 2023 Reciprocal Exchange FAC Artist in Residence in partnership with Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, South Korea.
Park is a visual artist, director, media artist and virtual architect based in Seoul and Berlin. In the context of site-specific and realistic movement, ‘the vitality of objects’ can be seen as a work theme. She searches for the meaning of vitality that occurs through the process of movement, transformation, and dimensional movement of objects in various ways. Park’s recent interest is about the political and semantic life of things after death, the realization of the afterlife, and virtual architecture.
Previous artists in residence include Zora Kreuzer and Dawn Dudek.
