Drawing & Painting – Chaos to Control (Wednesday Nights)

Wed 15 Feb 2023 — Wed 22 Mar 2023

Tania Ferrier begintadv

This course is designed for those who have never drawn before and have no idea where to start, or skilled drawers who need to loosen up a little and learn a new skill. Award winning artist Tania Ferrier shares the technique of finding images through mark making. Stretch paper on board with gum tape, splash on watery acrylic paint and stand back to see what the mind’s eye conjures. Charcoal sticks are used to draw up a loose framework before painting the image. The emphasis is on play and participants are always surprised about what they find in the marks. Although it starts with chaos, this process teaches you to draw out your idea while balancing the composition, the colour and controlling the outcome. It is a lot of fun!
